Ann Arbor Computer Society Meeting Held the first Wednesday of each month at SRT Solutions Headquarters (206 S. Fifth Avenue, Suite 200, Ann Arbor), the Ann Arbor Computer Society Meeting brings together computer professionals, software developers, and other technology enthusiasts from the Ann Arbor area together to discuss a range of technology related topics. Codemash! This fun annual event spans three days in January, and seeks to educate a consortium of software developers on current practices and technology trends in a variety of platforms and development languages such as Java, .NET, Ruby and PHP. Organized and co-sponsored by Ann Arbor based SRT Solutions, each annual Codemash has been held at Kalahari Resort and Indoor Water Park in Sandusky, Ohio. Women’s Exchange of Washtenaw The Women's Exchange of Washtenaw is an organization solely dedicated to promoting and strengthening Washtenaw business women and leaders. Through its events, the WXW hopes to provide a venue for networking, referrals, and relationship building, as well as to discuss and lead advocacy efforts to help women business leaders accomplish their business goals. Additionally, while there are many business organizations for women starting small businesses or sole proprietorships, WXW is the only group that targets women whose companies are in the growth stage. Visit the WXW website to join and to learn more. http://wxwbusiness.com/ The Ann Arbor High Technology Human Resource Association (AAHTHRA) was formed in the mid-1980s as a spin-off of the Ann Arbor Personnel Association (now known as Greater Ann Arbor Society of Human Resources Management). Most of the members, who were also members of SHRM and GAASHRM, felt there was a need for a smaller, more interactive forum for HR professionals in high technology industries to exchange information, challenges and best practices unique to their companies. Since its inception, AAHTHRA has offered HR professionals in the high tech industries a unique opportunity to connect and network in a smaller group setting. Members have the ability to use the association as a “confidential sounding board” on tough HR issues, to advertise open positions, as well as the opportunity to engage more closely with guest speakers. AAHTHRA is made up of a diverse group of companies ranging from biosciences to computer technology. Company sizes range from as small as 25 to as large as 400 so each member is sure to gain perspective that is relevant and useful.
