The Ann Arbor Region is a gourmet's delight. From the sumptuous cuisine of five-star restaurants to the delicious hand-crafted sandwiches at Zingerman's Delicatessen, the region has restaurants to satisfy every taste.
On a summer evening, downtown Ann Arbor's Main Street is teeming with people taking a sweet bite out of life. A walk down the street is a sensory delight: aromas waft from sidewalk cafes, live music cascades down the street from bars and music houses, and lighted trees and lampposts festooned with colorful posters make for an unforgettable and welcoming street scene.
In Chelsea, The Common Grill is the definition of an upscale American Bistro. Gourmet Magazine praised The Common Grill for serving "fresh, novel American dishes." The Ann Arbor News heralded it "one of the brightest jewels in this area's culinary crown". In addition to building the restaurant into a regional classic, Executive Chef Craig Common has written two cookbooks that have met rave reviews.
Haab's Restaurant is an Ypsilanti tradition since 1934. Bread baked from scratch; mayonnaise prepared using fresh eggs; and soup seasoned from their own simmering stock made with dry-aged U.S.D.A. Prime Beef, elevates the dining experience to a culinary delight.
Zingerman's Delicatessen is a culinary experience not to be missed. Since 1982 they've been crafting incomparable mouth-watering, flavorful sandwiches. Their unwavering commitment to quality ingredients has earned Zingerman's a national reputation.
The area is rich in ethnic dining too. Looking for Korean? Try Pacific Rim. Vietnamese? Saigon Garden. Traditional Indian cuisine? Raja Rani. Thai cuisine? Tuptim Thai Cuisine. Japanese? Miki Japanese Restaurant. French, Italian and good old American cuisines abound in the region as well.
